In the heart of the 1970s, amid a flurry of feathered hair and flared jeans, Gru (Oscar® nominee Steve Carell) is growing up in the suburbs. Minions The Rise Of Gru is peak minion mayhem and an insanely fun prequel to the Despicable Me film’s. Thoroughly more enjoyable as a whole compared to the Minions solo outing in 2015…with an easy breezy run time of just 1 hour and 22 minutes! Perfect length for kiddos!

I enjoyed this but not to the level of Despicable Me 1-3. The Minions are funny indeed, but they are at their best when interacting with other characters, especially Gru. (My favorite is their friendship with the 3 girls in the original). Although “Minions plus Gru” is present, much of their time is spent without him. Slapstick gags can only go so far. Funny…yes. Hilarious…no.

Wow. Round of applause for illumination! Being able to see gru’s backstory of how he became a villain was fun to watch. And of course, the minions are as funny as ever. The joy and entertainment that the minions bring to illumination films never gets old. Right now I am typing this review when only two reviews have been posted. When more people buy this movie and leave a review, I highly doubt there will be a lot of reviews saying that this movie wasn’t good. It’s definitely worth the payment. It’s not often that we get a movie this enjoyable in theaters. If you have yet to watch this movie then I hope this review has persuaded you to buy it.

Minions the rise of gru was worth seeing the characters were nice the minions were funny as always. I loved the orgin story of why gru became a villain. My favorite character kevin. My favorite part was ether when kevin,Bob and sturat as a bunny ,chiken ,and a goat fight the vicious 6 or when surat’s clothes fall of and we see his bottom sorry this was long and illumination you did good of this movie

This piece of modern cinematography is close to the levels of Morbius. It’s that much of a movie. I wore a suit to go see this with the boys, and the fan service they threw in was perfect. The expanded lore really made it feel like more of a experience. Movie/10. I every second of it.
