If this is cannon with the show, I would place it between Frank leaving and Pearl showing up.

That Rando stuff kills me. Sure, it's shorter than the actual show (or the movie showcased for that matter), but it's extremely riffable! Enjoy, but don't break the Hubble.

I have been watching this movie for over ten years and it is still funny everytime I watch it. I recommend that everyone see this movie at least once in their lifetime. Granted you can see the strings on the robots when it shows them close up, but if you take the movie for what it is, you will have a good laugh.

I've always liked MST3K, but I've sometimes found it hard to watch because some of the movies they feature are, well, unwatchable. The film that gets the business here in the theatrical MST3K release is a 50's sci-fi classic, "This Island Earth." While it's a little cheesy and dated, it's not amateurish piffle like some of the dreck they've skewed on the show. Also, commercial breaks built into the show really break up the flow. All in all, especially for the uninitiated, this is a great encapsulation of what makes MST3K a hoot.

Fabulous. Oscar-worthy. I want Crow. Tom Servo. Need I say more? The best of the lot - none of the others can compare.

...don't get me wrong, it was good, but it's a little short, and there was a bit too much intermission action and not enough wry commentary for my taste. And what's Dr. Forester without TV's Frank? No Pearl, Brain Guy, or Bobo, either. Plus, no Joe Don Baker...

This movie is above and beyond what one might expect from the cast of MST3K. It's absolutely hilarious from start to finish. The only thing I might have wanted more of was the Shatner jokes. But seriously, aside from MAYBE Puma Man, this is the best of the Mystery Science Theater 3000 collection. If you're new to the series, this is the perfect way to get started.
