The construction of the building was remarkable. The owner went over-and-beyond to customize it just for my needs.
I can't truly express how satisfied I am with Shed City USA. Mitch worked with me on a slightly difficult request, and he and his team came through big time. Mitch kept me informed of the progress every step of the way and it put me at ease. The time frame and quick simple delivery were very impressive, I recommend Shed City USA to anyone and everyone. It seems that now the Royal Sheds brand no longer exists as a live product range.
In short, we do not recommend building a shed for first-time DIYers. Even assembling a shed from a kit can have its challenges. Though the pieces are pre-cut, the directions can be difficult to follow, and a range of tools must be used.
Wooden shed kits are more expensive than resin or metal shed kits of a comparable size. And, while wood is a very strong material, it is also very vulnerable. Harsh weather, water, and insects can wreak havoc on wooden sheds causing them to rot and deteriorate. The paint finish on wooden sheds will also peel and fade over time which will require repainting and other maintenance.
Outdoor storage structures are our specialty. We craft each building with attention to detail and quality that will ensure years of use and enjoyment. We build and finish each shed and cabin at our shop in Salem, Indiana and deliver straight to your back yard.
When you build this shed, you call the shots about the final look, all while saving hundreds of dollars over the cost of hiring a contractor.
Paints that can be used on a variety of surfaces – from plastic to aluminum – are called “multi-surface” paints. Generally, these paints are self-priming, which means that you don’t need to go the extra step and buy primer.
Measure the roof area on your shed. Add 2″ – 3″ to the width to allow for folding over the sides to secure to the shed sides. It works out that you’ll only need one sheet to roof this wood storage shed.
A wooden shed is the most traditional type of shed and can be completely customized to create a very specific size or shape. They can be painted any color to match your house or surroundings, and they can easily be dressed up with unique features like cupolas or window flower boxes. They can also easily be customized inside, as well. Multiple shelves and cabinets can be hung from the walls and the overhead loft areas to provide extra storage area. However, unless you finish the inside of a wooden shed with actual walls and a ceiling, the interior will have an "unfinished" appearance with exposed wooden beams and braces which make it more difficult to clean and can more easily attract unwanted bugs.
All of the panels are designed to be bolted together for added strength and are made from one of the toughest plastic resins on the market.
The larger sized windows and transom windows on the gable ends of the backyard building serve to add natural interior lighting and visual appeal.

The next project is also from MyOutdoorPlans, com. I really think this wood shed project stands out through it simplicity and super large storage capacity. As you can see in the image, this shed is very basic but I like the concept and the main idea is to keep the costs down. This shed would be ideal if you want to store large logs, such as for drying them a few years before splitting them to firewood. MORE >>
The back and side cladding don’t match up since the sides are at an angle and therefore wider. I just put the angled boards equal distance from the top and bottom of the back cladding, but it still looks off.. Oh well, it’s purpose is to hold wood, not be a showpiece!
